The American millionaire and painter William Henry Singer Jr. built Singerheimen.
The property consists of nine buildings, all except the studio and mausoleum
painted in a special turquoise/green color. The color reflects the green color
of the Olden-river when the glacier melts into the water in the summertime.
William’s wife Anna Singer loved strong colors and patterns.
The house is full of art nouveau furniture hand-painted in Paris.
Singer financed to museums: Singer Laren in the Netherlands and Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in the USA.
